Jesus is my Provider!
Last weekend we attended a track and field competition at Texas A&M University in College Station. Our grandson was a competitor in the 200 meter race. We arrived early afternoon. After a short visit to the George H. W. Bush Library, we arrived at the stadium. In the parking lot behind the stadium, we saw a gentleman getting out of his vehicle, so we asked him if he knew which end of the building was the main entrance. He pointed us in the right direction. Then he came over to our car and asked if we had tickets. We answered no; we will have to buy some. Then he said we have two tickets (his wife was getting out of the car). We bought them yesterday but since we are on the coaching staff we did not have to use them. They are only general admission tickets. The seats do not have backs but you can have them if you wish. Of course we accepted them and thanked them. Upon entering the stadium, an usher guided us to our section. But, since my wife would have difficulty climbing the bleachers, the usher sat us on the first level by the rail. That was good but my wife would have difficulty seeing over the rail. So I began to look around for better seats. The usher observed our dilemma and agreed to set us up a little higher in the adjacent section, again on the first row bench that did not have a seat back. That was great because now my wife could see clearly. We sat in our comfortable seat on the bench waiting for the race to begin. While waiting, we engaged in a conversation with the gentleman on the row behind us in a very comfortable seat with a back. After about ten minutes, he stood up, pointed to his seat and the one next to him. Then he said, we are out of here, you are welcome to our seats. Hallelujah!!
Jesus is certainly a good Provider who cares for His lowly ones. He didn’t have to do it. But He took that opportunity to demonstrate His love for us in this small but extremely meaningful way. What has He done in your life lately?
