Is the Bible just a blob, a blur to your mind’s eye? Or, do you feel the Bible is simply too difficult for you to receive anything meaningful from it? Are you like the Ethiopian eunuch of Acts, sitting in his chariot trying to read the book of Isaiah? (Acts 8:29-Acts 8:31 ESV) “And the Spirit said to Philip, “Go over and join this chariot.” So Philip ran to him and heard him reading Isaiah the prophet and asked, “Do you understand what you are reading?” And he said, “How can I, unless someone guides me?” And he invited Philip to come up and sit with him.”

“When confronting a complex subject, have you ever heard the phrase, “just give me the big picture”? In this instance, we are talking about sparing me the details. Provide me a minimal summary instead. The Bible is a huge volume with many divisions, subdivisions, periods, and books. How does one begin to discover its life-saving, life-giving, Kingdom message? How do I condense all its pages down to a single concept that my finite mind can grasp and visualize?
How do I identify the one thing that would provide a context from which to relate all other things? If I could just find that one thing, the one powerful thing that speaks to the whole of the Bible, perhaps that would lead to one more powerful thing, to another, and so on. Then I would be on my way to getting my head around God’s Holy Scriptures. This was my struggle until the heart attack; one of the things I talked to God about during my recovery. This book will help you address the issue of longing to truly understand the Bible and being comfortable with it. When we are not comfortable with understanding the Bible well enough to comfortably incorporate it into our daily lives, Satan uses that crack in the wall to create more and bigger cracks that lead to doubts and uncertainty.
If you are not loving the Bible well enough to read it every day, this book will help you learn to appreciate the love of Jesus enough that you will want to spend time in His Word every day.
And, in every circumstance, remember, Jesus Loves You just as you are. But, He is not willing to let you stay as you are. So learn more about Him.
